Pre-College Ethics
Pre-College Ethics Interest Group News
The Pre-College Ethics Interest Group (PEIG) met for the first time at the Association for Practical and Professional Ethic’s 2009 Annual Meeting in Cincinnati. More than 20 members interested in bringing an ethics-rich curriculum to pre-college students met to discuss strategies to better accomplish this goal. The group agreed to focus first on creating regional high school ethics bowls using the Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl model.
Since that time, the High School Ethics Bowl program has grown extensively. In 2011 and 2012, 14 High School Ethics Bowls were held. This is in no small part due to the support of the Squire Family Foundation, along with APPE.
